The Announcement….
Sunday, March 14, 2010, was a significant day at my church home, Harvest Cathedral. It was announced that as of May 31, 2010, I would be stepping down as Minister of Music/Worship Leader. Although, the end of my time at Harvest – as a leader – is very close, this decision was not one made quickly or lightly. My wife and I had sought the Lord’s direction diligently for the last two years, and in early December 2009, received confirmation that it was time to submit my resignation to Harvest.
Our Senior Pastor, Pastor Steve Sawyer, acknowledged and accepted my decision and, in turn, began by committing to praying about the right time to present it to the congregation. So, three months subsequent to my decision and confirmation – a time filled with more prayer and heart searching – Pastor Steve further confirmed what my wife and I believed-that this season was the right time for us to take this next step of faith. We knew that God was moving us toward our future destiny and in the calling He has placed upon our lives.
The announcement was shared during both services, and turned out to be a very emotional day for the entire congregation; but I felt then and know now that the Lord truly covered the entire experience with His grace. While it wasn’t exactly a time of celebration, everyone seemed to genuinely embrace, with wholehearted support, the reality of and promise that God has a tremendous plan for my future.
That being said, to all of you who shared that special and seminal day with me and my family, and to all of you reading these words, I thank you for your extension of love and heartfelt compassion for my decision. I thank God for you from the depths of my heart.
As for my immediate plans, the arrival of May 31st will mean seeking gainful employment in the ministry and/or the market place. As God moves and orchestrates the plans that He has for me, and reveals to me what direction to move in, you will be able to find out more about my future on my website Events page at: www.timfountain.org.
I simply ask all of you to continue to pray for my family and I, as we make this critical transition in our lives. Your encouragement and support will keep us focused on our purpose, as we stay faithful to the truth that the Lord will guide our steps as He has done so many times before.
And be sure to return to this site not only to be apprised of my next “assignment,” but also to read the first installment of my two part series on my experience with God as He has prepared and led me and my family to this experience with you. Stay tuned for “A New Season.”
Until then, may the Lord truly bless you and give you His peace.
Moving Forward,
Tim
